We work up fairly early to hop onto our bus for the trip to the other Shanghai airport. We got there in plenty of time, but then found out our flight had been delayed, so we were in no hurry to check in.

We spent the day sightseeing in the heat and amongst the deafening cicadas. The Shanghai Museum had some calligraphy, bronze, and jade. And a gift shop!! It’s pretty staggering to stand in front of a bronze artifact that is 5000 years old.

We woke up early to catch our plane to Shanghai only to find it out it was delayed for 3 hours. The airline gave us lunch, then we boarded, only to wait another hour on the plane, where they fed us lunch again.

We had the morning at the beach where it was very hot, too hot to walk on the sand even. We loaded up un sunscreen and headed to a crowded beach. I later heard it was Sunday (I thought it was Wednesday), which could explain the crowds.

Today we got to sleep in a bit then we hopped on the bus for the 2-hour drive to Shenzhen. The city was developed as a mainland answer to nearby Hong Kong, and it has a number of gleaming skyscrapers.
